Florida District 72 Issues

Women's healthcare is healthcare.  To think our daughters and granddaughters have fewer rights over control of their bodies is an outrage. I fully support Florida's Constitutional Amendment 4 to enshrine this right for Florida's families.  See more here.

When elected, I will prioritize the needs of our senior citizens.  I will ensure Florida's seniors will get their social security and Medicare that they worked hard and earned. I will fight against any effort to reduce or eliminate these benefits.

The children in this district deserve a high quality education that prepares them for the 21st century. Time and time again Republicans cut funding for education.  I will ensure that our public schools have the funding they need to prepare our children for the future.  

With our coastline and its vulnerability to hurricanes and rising sea levels, environmental policies, including beach preservation, and water quality, are crucial.  Florida is a natural wonderland and conservation is essential.  I will fight to preserve our wild areas for future generations.

When elected, I will work to get more resources to bolster the great work being done at the Bradenton VA Clinic to help our veterans.

There is a home owner's insurance crisis with insurers fleeing the state and leaving homeowner's high and dry. Beyond canceling policies, insurers are hiking - sometimes doubling - premiums causing many Floridians to be out of their homes due to this sudden unaffordability.  Not only will I fight to bring insurers back to the table, in addition, I will make sure those affected will receive a tax credit to protect from the unfair rate increases.
